用過 Mac OS X Tiger 的人應該對 Spotlight 有印象
而 Google 也有出 Google Desktop 桌面搜尋程式可以在 Windows 上用
當然，Vista 也將會內建有同樣功能的程式
那麼，在 Linux 底下呢？
我們也可以利用 beagle + deskbar-applet 來做到類似的功能

＊安裝
＊＊Ubuntu
sudo apt-get install beagle deskbar-applet

＊＊Fedora
sudo yum install beagle deskbar-applet libbeagle-python SOAPpy
- libbeagle-python 是給 beagle-live 用的
- SOAPpy 則是給 Google-live 用的

＊啟動
安裝後，自動會在作業階段中加入 beagled
所以，必須先登出後再登入，才會啟動 beagled
至於 deskbar-applet 則是要透過加入面板來加入 (桌面工具列)

＊設定
對著面板上的桌面工具列圖示按右鍵進入“偏好設定“

＊＊啟用 Google 搜尋 (Google-Live)
按下 “更多” 可以看到相關的資訊

你要先有 Gmail 的帳號，然後再到 http://api.google.com 去申請一個 Google API Key
把它存到 ~/.gnome2/deskbar-applet/Google.key 中
然後再下載 googleapi.zip 並解開，把裡面的 GoogleSearch.wsdl 複製到 ~/.gnome2/deskbar-applet/ 下
這樣就可以勾選 Google 搜尋了

輸入關鍵字就可以搜尋了

也可以輸入指令，然後按 Enter 就可以執行指令
